The Long Game

Lodestar builds the permit and inspection systems that councils and fire agencies run on, and its whole product is trust: a permit is a signed, tamper-evident record someone can rely on in court. To sign those records it leans, like everyone, on a small open-source library called Sigil that almost nobody has read. Someone read it. This is the supply chain from the end that ships: an attack that spent eighteen months earning trust and then landed, the scramble to find out who downstream is running it, and a forged permit reaching a burning-permit system as the fire season opens.
