The Reproducible Result

A marine ecology group in Perth has eleven years of survey data from the Culver Shoals, a model that turns it into a single published figure, and a pipeline one postdoc can run. When he leaves, the group finds that the number it has published for four years cannot be reproduced by anyone, including him. Everywhere else software has to keep running; here it has to be re-runnable once, years later, by a stranger, and produce the identical number.
